Since 1 July 2026, stricter rules apply to new or heavier connections. Area 1a (around Utrecht, Woerden, De Ronde Venen, Zeist and Houten) has a temporary connection pause. Elsewhere in the province you more often land on a waiting list.

Area 1b (Amersfoort, Bunschoten, Soest) and area 2 (Veenendaal): no connection pause according to Stedin, but national waiting-list rules still apply in congestion areas.
Your existing connection keeps working. The issue is new applications and upgrades.
